“Management Literacy” is the basic knowledge and the ability of its use in management. In the Kyushu University Business School, necessary basic subjects for Enterprise Management (Organization Management, Business Finance, Marketing Strategy, Accounting, English Business Communications and Corporate Ethics) are to be required subjects (mainly credits in the first year). And we offer a smooth study transition for the adult students who have learned neither specializing in economy nor in management. MOT and Asia
The goal of the Business School of Kyushu University is to develop “World-class business professionals”. Espesially we focus on the promotion of “MBAs who Understand management and industrial technology both and whose work field is in Asia”. After enrolment, all members study basic subjects (like Accounting, Marketing Strategy, and Business Finance) that are necessary for a business leader. Then you will learn specialized subjects related to technologies such as Intellectual Property Management, Research and Development Management, and Innovation Management. Through the educational curriculum, you can acquire Management of Technology (MOT) regardless of your educational backgroud whether you used to learn sciences or arts. Moreover, The concept of “Asia” is considered in many subjects. The Asian intention is the main pillar for the research educational activity of Kyushu University, which has a longtime accumulation of study. In QBS, Asia related subjects are prepared by teachers who have a great knowledge about Asia. And it aims for the promotion of the talent who can be active even in the Asia business. Furthermore, we provide exchange student system with the associated Business Schools in Asian nations. Under the system, you can transfer your credits into each school. As a result you can enjoy practical study on Asian business.
We organize our curriculum with the subject to master the knowledge and the ability required for management professionals. And our target of the course is to develop the talents who are “international business professionals having understand of management and industrial technology, being active in Asia”. We offer you the curriculum that agrees with this target. You can get concrete idea on our curriculum with the following table. You are to learn basic subjects related with management (MBA Basics) so that you will be management professionals. Then you can learn “Subject group on business strategy management ” and “Subject group on industry technology management”. “Subject group on business strategy management ” offers you the subject that systematically develops “MBA Basics”. And “Subject group on industry technology management” offers you various subjects concerning management of technology (MOT) and the Asian business. Thus, we show you a systematic route from basic subjects to the application development and the MOT subjects. Each teacher checked the best combination of business theory and business practice (for example, a theory study and its application to the case). They try to reflect it to the content of the curriculum and classes. Projects support you to bridge between business theory and business pracitce according to your interest, spending one year of your second year. For that purpose, we have well balanced arrangment of posting researchers and businessman as teachers for these subjects. And also, the combination of theoretical study and case studies are installed in many classes. The case study enable you to polish the power of business execution by the simulated experience that includes the invitation of business professionals taking an active part in the front-line through case studies, visits on business sites. Through these, you can have expeirence of investigation and examination for site management and practical managerial judgment.
